All shipments are sent via next day courier service which is delivered before noon, the fish are packed in strong bags which are well oxygenated, these are placed into polystyrene boxes containing a heat pack to keep the fish warm overnight.
Upon arrival please unpack in a quiet, and if possible slightly darkened room, this will help to keep the fish calm after their ordeal.
Lift the lid from the box and turn through 45 degrees and place on top of the box, this will allow a small amount of light into the box which allows the fish a chance to recover slightly.
After about five minutes remove the lid completely, remove bags from box and float in aquarium, remove elastic band and roll the sides of the bag down to form a collar, this will help to stop the bag sinking too quick, begin adding small amounts of tank water to the bag with a suitable container allowing time for the fish to become acclimatised to the new water and temperature, take your time, the slower you do this the better.
Once the temperature and pH in the bag are the same as the aquarium you can then proceed to gently transfer the fish from the bag into their new home by either tipping the bag slowly until the fish swim out or by netting them from the bag.
Do not be tempted to turn on the lighting immediately, go and make yourself a cup of Coffee and relax for 15 minutes, the fish need a little time to relax as well.
We will only ship on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to ensure the fish reach their destination as quickly as possible.
Any signs of illness or DOA's need to be reported to us immediately by phone.
